OIL SPILLS Niger-Delta Edition.

You know. I just need to say this. I just really need to say this.
Okay. On twitter, all over the news-um everywhere-everybody is talking about these oils spills in the gulf of Mexico.

Sigh. Ok. First of all let me just say: I do not want oil spills or any kind of unsanitary, unhygienic, unhealthy, hazardous spillage or any sort anywhere in the freaking solar system. If you know me personally, and know me well, you are aware that my only wish (because hey-they are for Disney cartoon characters…not for real life) is that there truly is not just World Peace, but Global Love. I want all the people everywhere in the world to respect, appreciate, empathize with and celebrate each other even when cultural understanding is difficult to attain…that is why it seriously IRKS ME!!!! Any and every time I see a display of total disregard for others, of negligent obliviousness, ignorance rooted in arrogance, vision blurred by prejudice and idiots who cannot see passed their freaking eyelashes!!!!!

(breathe.) Ok.

That semi-aside.

How and why is it that these oil spills are getting soooo much coverage? So much attention? So much play-by everyone!? (wanna-be compassion feigning losers who want to appear in the know and seem “human” and politicians and government officials alike)

When…for YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nigeria’s Niger-Delta has been exploited and polluted for YEARS!!!!!!???

Somebody.Please.Tell.Me.

I take personal offense.
Yet again it shows that Africa is abandoned as the world’s gutter

What do they call us again? Oh yeah THIRD world! Fucking funny when the first traces of human life were discovered on our soil! Or does it make easier to be so devilish when the people you are treating like dirt off the heal of your “designer” show are somehow labeled as “sub-human”….lower..????

Hiss!

All the big companies, from all the gross Western Capitalist Crusading nations have been coming here for years and years and years and are still coming here, using all sorts of propaganda, ploys, bribes, deals to get their oil at ANY cost and bounce! Whether it was through funding scholarships for a so-called education abroad for Nigerian youths or bribing our ignorant, uneducated, slave-mentality ridden officials-whatever the case may it has been done!

Our ecosystems have been thoroughly damaged by the oil infesting our land. We hardly have any fish and import most of our seafood produce from other African countries (like Togo). There are people who grew up in the Niger-Delta region who speak of seeing oil in the water, oil dripping from the leaves of tress as little boys and girls. Is that healthy? No. Our leaders have been bought every time so that our economy has suffered and in turn our inherently beautiful culture has suffered.

The heart of Nigeria bleeds oil and our people suffer for it. SUFFER!!!!!!!

Not that I know of….please let me know if you know something that I don’t.

WHAT THE HELL???????????????

How does the media pick and choose when and how to care? HOW?

I’ll tell you how:

MONEY and NEOCOLONIALISM. That’s how!

When it suits the disgusting nations in so-called power (more like true-called post colonialists turned neo-colonialists still pillaging and exploiting resources that do not belong to them through modern-day slavery!) to benefit from seeming to care that is when the media catches on in accordance with the rubbish. When these stupid powers have something to lose or everything to gain that is when crocodile tears are shed.

Nawa for this world oh-it has become so fake.

The average human being’s core makes me sad. When I see a person of real substance (few and far between) like Nenneka Egbuna who has tried to mention the travesty going on in the Niger-Delta through her song, “Heartbeat” off of her album Concrete Jungle I feel hope.I feel I am not alone in my struggle, in my truth.

Sometimes…I do wonder, God is this world still Yours?

…………….

It has been written that God helps those who help themselves.

This is why with everything I feel, with every passionate cell in my body, I truly believe that all these handouts and doggie bags most African nations are waiting for need to be disregarded. It is not in anybody else’s interest but our own to truly help ourselves.

We need to say FUCK YOU to all the stupid oil companies and their accompanying greeddddyyy nations and Get ourselves together. Together! For real! Let us rediscover who we are as AFRICANS! As NIGERIANS! Let us rebuild our authentic pride and heal our collective energy as a nation.

Let us start looking inward and doing the work so that we do not even need to care if anyone cares about the well being of our land, economy and spirit. If we care enough about ourselves, there won’t be any room, any need, any way-for others to seek us out with hidden agendas guised as “help” and “care.” And we can truly stand alone, stand our ground and say:

FUCK YOU! WE ARE AFRICAN!
